raspy sounding exhaust?

is the raspy sound mainly from your choice of muffler or wat...? right now i have a ractive header , hollowed out cat, 2.25/2.50" catback piping(not sure of size but car with this setup), some cheapo muffler.

is there anything i can do to make this car sound deeper, i was looking at the magnaflow catback but it pretty pricey.

btw its 91lx with f22b dohc nonvtec

Try the FireBall cat back, usualy the Bigger the Can the deaper the sound, i have 2.25" pipeping with like a 3" fart can, sounds really deap and good. Mabye Ill put up a video on how it sounds. I love the way mine sounds, and I dont know the excat muffler size, just dont get a HUGE ass one....

decent 18" or so glasspack resnator inplace of the hollowed out cat will get it sounding just right

larger canister helps muffle the noise however my carsound cat created a rasp around 2500-2700rpms

Ill get that going this weekend maby, I be a lil busy with stuff, but i always wanted to do a new one, ooooooooooh wait, I have an old one with the same exaust with my old motor (F22a6) heres the link. Theres music and I made it spiffy kinda, it was like my 2nd vid i made so bare with me lol. THe other accord in there i my buds (91 SE accord 4 door Blue, he has the huge can) Mine is the 2dr black one.

oh and I got mine off ebay like 2 years ago, and I have had no problems, the Fireball cat back one, I recomend that.

i just hollowed the cat last weekend and it sounded the same b4 that so i think a glasspack would do nething

I'm running a complete MAGNA-FLOW exhuast system,with no resonator. Its a deep raspy tone(think deep bass) , not that high pitched weed eater sound that most FARTCANS or GLASSPACKS give off.Running 2.5" piping into the 3'' muffler.

anyway, If you want to get rid of all "rasp" get a full system from a well known and respected company. I would sudgest not to get a "fart can" as they lack some things (mainly chambers). Now granted free flowing exhaust is the main objective in modifying your exhaust system, not making it loud. There are many companies out there that know this and make good exhaust systems with this concept in mind. I think that if you were to get a respectable muffler with the air flow you need and sound reduction to match, at WOT it would scream but crusing you would get rid of the rasp.

i decided i want the RS*R is there anyway i can get just the muffler or can u only get it with the full exhaust!!!

changing air flow will result in the change of the tone that comes out of your exhaust. you can change the muffler or exhaust if you want. what most people do not know is that tuning your car will also result in the change of the tone. sound is after all just vibration of air traveling at different frequencies.

Sorry dudes but i think magnaflow is a piece of shit if i were u go with something better i got an Apexi and it sound bad ass nice deep tone or just stick with ur stock muffler and have a slepper look just my two cents
