ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

car is running like crap with new ecu

I put in my manual ecu and started it up today and it ran like crap. after about 10-15 min it got better but still had idel lope and it backfired. the idle is ok but it isnt running good. there are no check engine lights. all I have done as far as the distributer goes is change the cap and button. Is it supposed to run horrible when the ecu has been reset?

I hooked my stock ecu back up and nothing changed.
this car ran fine last week before I realigned the clutch. as far as I know everything was hooked up right. im pretty carfull to make sure i know what goes where and I doubel check everything. when i pull the plug wire for the 2nd closed cylinder to the distributor the engine runs no different. the same is true for the farthest cylinder from the distributor. the distributor cap was off while I was dropping the transmission with the engine hoist. I wonder if some dirt or crude could have goten in the distributor or if i could have dameged it. I also replaced the coolent temp sensor right below the distributor. Am I going to have to replace the distributor? all the wires look like they are in the right places.
on the good side i seem to have made my clutch chatter go away

indeed my friend played a little trick on me. I called him up telling him about it and he switched em. bastard. the reason i didnt try that in the first place is because i never took them off the old cap and it ran bad with the old cap on. the clutch is so much smoother! I can actualy use my reverse!

and of course as my luck would have it i pick up a screw in the tire the first 5 miles.
