ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Gas leaking

My car is park since Friday and 10minute ago I take it to go to the restaurant and start the car, changing my cd and then that smell of gas. I shift in 1st and slowly advance the car, and I see a huge spot in my parking. I put the car back at the same place and check near the fuel tank and the gas is leaking a lot. ( Ilost like 1/8 of my tank in 5 min).
My car was ok friday and take it today for the first time since and is leaking ??
What to check ??? Will I need a new gas tank ??? How much does it cost ??....

    THX

if you can see the hole and it's not rusted out and is just a pin hole of some kind, then yeah, they can fix it.........they'll take it off, fill it up with water, weld it and then call it a day.........may be cheaper/easier to get a used tank though.....i'd replace the pump while i'm in there as well, unless it's relatively new

not the most impossible job, but helps to be on a rack and/or have help
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

The gas is comming from the driver side. It's like a protector with two hole and the gas from there.

yeah take off that protective plastic piece, and you will see the pressure feed return lines, they tend to rust out where they are attached to the chassis.

It's my fuel line... This morning I jack the car and start to remove the guard and some of the line fell on the ground (like 6inch long).
Now I can't take my car to go buy a new gas line... can go to a shop to get it repair.... i'll need to get it tow :\ or is this really hard to change?????

I've just call to a Honda dealership and they charge me 129.99$ for the gas line.... And the guy told me that take about 4hours to change it ( ouch) at 75$ an hour :\ Plus I need to get the car tow to the honda dealership (100$) I tell him i will call back later..

So I call to a place that I can have some good and cheap part... 70$ for the line... and he told me about 2h30min to change it (60$/hour).....

After that, i've got to little mechanic shop near my house, and the guy tell me he can only change what is not good on the line ( 60$/hour) + 8$/feet of line. And I don't need to get my car tow because it's like 700feet of my house...
I'm going tommorow morning.... I'll update you for the price I paid...

P.S. Gas or Gaz (in english) or the 2 is ok ???

That happened to me, the pipes rust easily, and wher eit and the rubber ose connected was leaking, my mechanic put another clamp onit, I can still smell gas but there is no sign of leaking. On my other car the gas pipe is really rusted, I want to replace it before that too get a huge hole in it. Take a look at it though before going to a mechanic, might be able to fix it yourself. Take off the back tire, then the plastic shield, you'll be ale to see the piping.

my first leak they just did the clamp method, but my most recent leak sounds like the problem this guy was having, its where the hardline fitting bolts to the chassis, you need to replace the whole line. Mine cost 500+
