ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Looks pretty good to me. If you're going to put more power down, though, I would just cut straight to a stage two clutch if they have the same package. Stage one is more of a stock replacement than anything else, but I wouldn't pass up a flywheel, so I would jump on that.

I bought that same exact package when I did my swap, what a deal.
The clutch is smooth as stock.
You do have to break the flywheel in, mine slipped really bad at first just from hitting the gas on my stock H23.
The revs would go up, but my speed wouldn't. Be easy, you can glaze shit and screw parts up if you can't be gradual on the break-in.

After a couple hundred miles you can resume normal abuse.

I bought the same package deal also and I bought mine from the same place and I got it in 4 days. Good combo and the stage 1 will hold plenty of power

wow, im definantly getting it then. thanks a bunch for answering my questions. the next thing my money goes to except for mantinance will be an h22, nothing special, but with my budget and need for a reliable car, I think its the smart choice.

It's not necessary and it's really short, but it's cheap and while you're in there is the time to do it if you're going to.

make sure you make markings on the damn flywheel before you install it!!! i didnt and now my timing is all fucked up

also, make sure you break it in properly or else you will have clutch chatter for its whole life. it sucks and its annoying.

Good call. I was forewarned and did this, but I forgot to mention.
I held the two flywheels in alignment and then used an awl to scratch the stock marks into the XTD.

And yeah, I'd never heard of shit slipping like that, but it makes sense.
The garage I built my shit at is on the craziest, steepest mountain road around, I actually rolled upside down off it in my old 240. So like a dumbass I started trying to let it eat the mountain with the new clutch and FW, it wasn't happening. Too much torque, not enough grip on un-broken-in parts?

It went away gradually over the course of a few days with no other issues after. Maybe my motor makes more juice than others, haha. After everything was settled in, My 3,000 lb '92 EX Sedan H23 ran inch for inch with my brother's '97 prelude (H22) from 0-about 100 before we both had to back off (damn stop signs). So I'm sure it was running right!
                      ...until it blew up

I've had the XTD stage 1 clutch for a year now, and my views on it are so so. On one hand, it works fine for daily driving. Pedal isn't really stiff like some clutches, and it works fine for starting out on hills, etc, and holds during quick shifts for back roads. However, this clutch does not like to drag. In the burn out box, you have to drop it a little low and not feather it at all, otherwise it won't grab at all and just burns up. Nor can I do a proper launch any more. I have to start out at 2.5/3k and quickly make up for it. If I had money (or experience), I'd swap it out for an ACT or Clutchmasters. My friend got the same one the same time I did and his experiences are the same. Overall I give it a 3 out of 5

I was wondering how they hold up over time. Drag racing is a bit more demanding for sure. I'd probably never notice that kind of stuff on the street, but it figures that there'd be a drawback to saving a hundred bucks or more.

Just so you know, I only went to the track once. Slipped on my second run. It was in April. Had never been too hard on it before that
