Nitrogen filled Tires?

Who would of thought this thread that I created would have came in handy for me to write a comparison paper for English 121?

I kinda think its a gimmic to get the rich ppl that shop at costco more to spend on.

If you think everyone that shops at Costco is rich, you have another thing coming... I dont know about where you are from but here in Kansas City, there are a WIDE varitety of people through the doors.. My parents go there like once a week and my parents are NOT rich.. Later

Jack Williams tire and auto filled mine w/ nitrogen for free along with a bunch of other stuff when i got my tires/rims. Usually you can talk them into a nitro fill if you buy tires.. anywhere.

just nitro fill isnt going to do much. figure that 50% is filled with air at 0psi. filling with nitro will only fill about 50% of the tire... roughly i figure. To do it right you'd need a vacuume of some sort.

I have nitrogen-filled tires. The thing is im a bit flat on the front left tire. I cant fill in a little bit of air for temporarily can I?

yes u can fill up nitrogen tires w/ regular air

In addition, nitrogen is dry and it won't corrode the inside of your wheels like regular air will.

This is the exact reason that nitrogen is used in aviation for the tires and shock struts. "nitrogen or clean dry air" is what the acceptable practices from the FAA calls for.

I believe that it is a great idea for automotive use, but not too feasible. When was the last time you landed your car going 120mph and dropping from 10 feet...hahaha

anyways, aviation tires are used at about 80-300psi also so you would almost have to use nitrogen from a cylander to achieve these pressures.
