ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

wouldnt you just want to take it off, because it is like a botle neck for the exhaust? i might be wrong with this but it seems to me that just having the exhaust go strait from header to the muffler out the back instead of having cat in there also

u want free horse power? nextime u change your sparkplugs, mark the top with a sharpie where the gap is and when tightening try to face it toward the intake manifold. it will add an extra pony, its proven, age old technique. do a egr bypass, use fully synthetic oil, add a couple of horse power due to less friction, insulate fuel line with a/c insulation, cooller fuel going in engine is better same as cooler air in intake is better, and finally go at the tracks for your 1/4 in the winter when its 30ish degree's, heheh.

.....would be ideal (?) Yeah, but you'd have to pay for a test pipe or exhaust work unless you weld and the thread is about not spending money. It does cost 2 gaskets to put it back together right. The cat isn't a bottleneck after it's gutted , it's an expanded section ==<>==, I usually notice way better pickup in higher rpm where the motor normally gets strangled. I think the performance improvement from this rivals that from a $500 catback system.

an also when u flush coolant do a 40/60 instead of 50/50. 40% coolant and 60% water, it will cool your engine better without the worries of corosion. all my statement I made in your post are not B/S and they are from pro auto technicians and race car drivers.

you should use a h23 intake manifold instead of the stock f22 one

40/60 won't cool better. ethylene glycol cools better than just water.
the only thing is, it takes more power for the water pump to pump it cuz its more viscous. so by using only 40% ethylene glycol, you reduce parasitic loss from the h2o pump.

this would be close to optimum for making your car fast but definately not cheap

for cheap definatly check the DIY section its helpful and youll save a bunch on the stuff such as the SRI Intake
