ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Power Steering Fluid leaking

I was doing a oil change to my accord yesterday and I realized that I had a leak from my power steering. I checked all my hoses and they are fine, so I don't know where it can be from. Also the hoses to the reservoir are fine, but there is all this power steering fluid on my belts the top of my hood and some on my driver side headlight. Can someone help please?

Hard to diagnose without pictures. Take some, it will help.

are you shure its power steering fluid? sometiems from the headgasket seal or the internal seal of the cam shaft it leaks, gets on the timming belt and ends up on the other belts.

you seem to have an issue like mine. mine was leaking from the pump itself directly above the alternator pulley. oil was all over the engine bay, more and more....hood headlights, everywhere... i tested this by cleaning around the areas that are dirty with a high pressure hose and got some white paper towels and wraped them around spots that is a potential leak around the hoses. i wraped them at every connection to narrow it down as well.

i then watched it for a while to see and i saw a drip from the power steering pump itself and just took it apart and rebuilt it.

so id say clean clean clean to get an accurate look at things, and then watch to see it drop.

also if u smell the fluid it will be a tangy stench....oil is more of another smell so you can also tell if its power steering fluid or oil.

oil isnt good for belts so fix the problem soon.

      good luck.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Yeah its power steering fluid. I have the exact same problem you do. So how much do the pumps cost? Also is it easy to install?

Have you checked the rack/pinion area...I know when I had my cb7 that was where mine was leaking from and all my hoses were 100%.

my mechanic rebuilt it for 100 bucks with labor and everything, he just took it apart and changed the seals....he was chasing this problem forever so i gave him 100 instead of 80.
