ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    New Brakes that squeak?!?

I just had a whole LOAD of repairs done to my CB7, one of the replacements being the brakes. These brakes are brand new, yet, when I slow down to stop at a light or pull in to my own garage the brakes always squeak. Is their dust all over my brakes or something, or what?!?

You replace both sides (front and back)? Sometimes the metallic pads will squeak when cold and as they warm up they wont squeak no more.

Did you do the brakes yourself? If not,I would take a tire off and check the pads myself if i was in you're shoes....don't trust mechanics...

Put some anti-squeal on them. They might chatter a bit until they get broken in.
I swear, eventually I'll run out of things to break.

I guess I was wrong... I broke it all. Died 10/29/06

if you did them your self next time hit the rotor with 80 / 120 grit and the pad aswell it will break the surface of the pad and resurface the rotor

I got ceramic breaks and the squeal too. Not all the time but usually after it rains.

If you ever compare Metallic to Organics...Ive always gotten Organics because they dont squeak at all....Metallic or Ceramics allways squeak....But Metallics and Ceramics seem to last longer...

I got all the repairs done over at Brake Max Car Shop. It's a good place, I've been there tons of times for many things and never had any problems. It's just really weird to have the brakes squeak when they are brand new.

Like stated above, put some of that cream they give you when you buy new pads to stop the squeeling. It goes on the shim of the pad.

                        ...adjust accordingly
