ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    need brakes to stop

problem: brake pedal play increases when it's hot out. car no stop like before.
    answer: ???????!
    can anybody suggest something

it's your brake master cylinder. it's leaking inside, the hot weather makes the fluid thinner and it seeps through the seals. i had the exact same problem about 3 weeks ago and i replaced the master cylinder and haven't had any problem at all since. it's a simple job to do yourself and the cylinder is pretty cheap at your local autoparts store. good luck.

no problem, when it started happening to me i was stumped too, because i checked everything for leaks and found nothing at all, then after sitting in my garage thinking about it the whole hot weather thing started making sense lol. but it's def the bmc. and don't forget the bleed the master cylinder too.

again, i appreciate the response. i looked in my haynes manual and couldn't figure it out from their tests to do. i would've been stuck for a while too. thanks again.

Look at this! PERFECT example of what a noob should be like. He's got a book, he's using it and just needed a little suggestion. Still could have been solved without the question but I don't think his question was dumb. No stupid shit like "ok how do I do that, can you post a DIY and email it to me" or "where do I buy one of those" or even "where is the nearest shop that will do this and how much does it cost". None of that bullshit. Noobs trying to help themselves and TRUELY learning, NOT by asking incessant stupid questions. You're a good man delart, keep it up.

Haynes manuals suck, at least IMO. props to him for checking though.
I was just about to suggest the BMC as well. I had this problem in my car a few years back, and my parents actually paid someone to do it and it cost like $250. Holy crap that's too expensive.
