ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    problem with remote start

I start the car, with the remote, and then there is a hissing sound (about 5 seconds later) that comes from the car...and then the remote start shuts off itself...Then I remote start it again, and then press on the gas pedal immediately to shut it off, and the the hissing sound is gone and I can drive around. I know the hissing sound is because of the remote start, because when I normally start the car, there is no hissing sound...Can someone help me...this is very frustrating
    Yeah, Preludes

yea should be the brake and in my exp the only sound ive ever heard of is it trying to start once its started because of no bypass or something....my dude says that the started is not disengaging...gotta program the tach....he installs them on the daily

the hissing isn't some kind of barely audible chime/buzz is it? something that is related to the system itself?

or do you think it could be the sound of something shorting out which is causing it to shut off?
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

the hissing sound is almost like a leak in the exhaust system...does that help at all?

                  I have remote start too.
The hissing sound cant be the alarm as it has nothing to do with anything mechanical, The alarm- Remote start operatres electrcaly through your computer/ ignition sys telling your car to start.

We need a more clear idea as to whats happening pop the hood, prop her up.
Find the elec switch/button that tells the car that the hood is down and then remote start the car.
See what you can hear....ha ha that sounds funny......and go from there

what does having the hood up affect the remote start?

Dunno over there but here in Aust its a safety thing so the car cant be remote started while someone has their hands in the engine bay.

are you even familiar w/ how your alarm was hooked up?
i'd check the remote starter relay, usually the first thing to go when the remote start isn't engaging.
