ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Bolt On's and going all motor?

Ive been debating whether or not I want to do FI because im afraid of the engine blowing. I figured staying NA would be safer and more reliable(very important for me)What exactly is it that you can do to get the most out of your engine when staying all motor? I hear it can be very expensive but I like the idea of being about to keep doing stuff to improve your ride. What parts are considered bolt on's? Im assuming by the name they are basically diy's, right?

Yeah, your basic bolt on's would be header, high flow cat, exhaust, fuel, ignition, intake, intake manifold, that kinda of stuff....Now if you wanna go even further, you can go with cams, valves, valve springs, pistons.....that kinda stuff...there is a bunch out there.......are you sticking with the F22???

When I get my car(hopefully real soon) I plan to stick a jdm F22 in there. Seems like a good motor to start from.

Believe it or not a high revving all motor car puts more stress on the motor than a turbo vehicle. And yea boosting is good if you have a good tune and take care of your car so its not that tragic. With people like MRX on this board and others you should be fine.

That is VERY true. A mild all-motor setup can be efficient, but you won't make great power. With a reasonably built street F22 SOHC motor, you'll probably never break out of the 14s. You'd need to go all out (meaning things will break) to hit 13s. "all motor" is usually in reference to the all out types.

Turbo is good when you know what you're doing, and you don't cut corners where you shouldn't. It's not cheap to do right, and it's not something you just do... you need to learn and maintain. Done right, turbo can be very reliable. The only bad thing is that you're introducing yet another complex system... staying NA is simpler in terms of the number of things that can go wrong.

If you want to stay under 7500 RPM and not push your car TOO hard, then NA is a good choice.

My goal is to reach mid 14's....maybe low. But who knows if/when I reach that I could get hungrier.
