ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    another f22b ?

i wanted to know what the average 1/4 mile time is with an f22b dohc nv swap. i have a 91lx f22b dohc nv with short ram intake ,header, catback, msd ign,act clutch and 17in wheels pretty heavy wheels (motegi) i just bought the car from a guy at work who said it was pretty quick but when i went to the track the best i ran was a 17.17 @ 86mph temp was around 65-70 with little to no humidity i believe my 60' time was 2.8sec
any tips or info on what this setup should be running would be very helpful

    thank you
    Dan

well im running an f22b dohc with headers, intake, high flow cat, 2.5 cat back exhaust, 8.5 Ib lightened flywheel, stage 2 clutch, and hit consistant low 16s but the best i have been able to run was a 15.7 at 91mph on a perfect launch

My friend with an F22A1 (AEM short ram, ebay header, muffler shop crush bent 2.25" exhaust) ran a 15.9. The F22B DOHC should run a good deal faster than that with similar mods! You SHOULD be looking at about 15.5 with I/H/E. Then again, that's assuming your motor is healthy, your tires are decent, the track's equipment is accurate, and you're a good driver.

when i ran the 15.7 tire pressur was at 32 PSi and i launched at 2.5K but i have bad wheel hop and traction problems so my car is nowhere near its prime with consistant low 16s it should be running mid 15s consistantly so if you do swap be sure to get either solid motor mounts (excelent for holding engine, lots of engine vibration felt in car) ... or get inserts or fill the mounts.

ill be doing my mounts sometime after i get to TN and start aquiring my turbo parts also so you know im running in florida with lots of humidity and temps in the 80s when i ran

good to know thanks again, yah i was gonna take care of the motor mount thing, is it possible to use the inserts and fill them or can u only do one of the two

There are only inserts availible for the front torque mount (the dogbone). The rest of the mounts need to be filled. There's a DIY here on the board somewhere. You can buy some urethane mix, fill your mounts, and let them set. 24 hours is usable, but I think it takes something like a week to fully set. I have a spare set of mounts from my wrecked DX that I plan on filling.

yeah the best thing i have heard to do is to buy a brand new OEM set and fill them and let them sit that way you can drive on your old ones till they are ready and use the insert for the front one

i see, yah i replaced the dogbone already and the owner before me replaced it not that long ago so thats 2 times in less than a year the thing was destroyed when i got it out.

so any idea on what the compression reading is supposed to be at and the spark plug gap??

From what i have heard the F22B spec is similar to an h23.
