ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Tire size

I am getting new 18 inch rims but my car will have a stock suspension. I do not want the car to be high off the ground and I dont want a lot of wheel gap but I can not afford any suspension work. What should I go with. Also which would not rub or rub a lot? Thanks guys

    225/40/18
    235/50/18
    235/30/18

What about if I got 17's then I could have more thread but will there be less wheel gap too?

Bigger wheels will not help wheel gap, unless you get large profile tires, but if you make the overall diameter larger than stock, it may rub when you have people in your car and or you go over bumps or potholes. The only way to truely get less wheel gap is lowering springs and shocks.

And when you do, with 18s you will need a 215/35/18 to best keep the stock overall diameter, or 205/40/18 will also give an about stock diameter.

I can tell you for a fact that changing wheel size won't decrease the gap.
Take my car for instance, since I haven't lowered it yet there's still a pretty big gap. But I'm working on that part.

Will work for food, car parts, or three stripe apparel. And not necessarily in that order

                        wait..
                        215-40-18
                        and
                        205-45-17

those are the best sizes to keep relatively close to stock.

wont fill up the wheel gap too much, but just get some egay coilovers for like $60 and use those until your stock shocks blow, which may or may not be too soon.

either way, stick to those sizes..

how about you not tell the guy what he wants, and just tell him what he's asking. he has his mind made up already as to what he wants. if he wants the right tire sizes, just keep your post count what it should be, and dont even bother posting on this thread.

Keep in mind when your buying new rims that you get the correct offset for the size rim so you don't rub on the fender wells. The higher the positive offset the better man! This offset will determine what size of tire you should get.
