ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Diagnosing Fan Failure

Neither the condensor nor the radiator fans are working, and I need help figuring out the problem. I've replaced the thermostat and both switches. I've checked all of the fuses in the engine block and the driver's panel block. I've checked the radiator relay (switched it with the power window relay and the windows worked), but I can't find the condensor relay. I've jumped the motors and both work. I've let the car warm up to 1/2 way at idle, and didn't get a reading on either switches. I tried to jump the connectors that plug into the switches and I didn't get anything, however I'm not sure if it's because the connectors are blown or if the switch activates them a special way. Also, when I press the front defrost button, it turns amber. However when I press the A/C button, it doesn't turn green. Neither buttons turn on the fans. Thanks for any help.

PS - I really need this fixed, is there any other forum that I can post it at in order to get the problem taken care of faster?

You said you jumped the motors and they both work? the fans i mean...

    Try this:

flush out your coolant. Refill it properly, with the bleeder screw and all...

after a complete flush and refill, you need to babysit for a while...
Turn the car on, let it run for a good 10-15 minutes...this is considered a cycle.

The temp meter in the gauge should go to at least half or just below the half mark. Do not turn on anything else, A/C, Heater, lights, radio...etc.

While the car is running, the fan(s) should kick on.

Im kinda confused with your post...
...if they dont kick on, they can be seized, the fan motors...but you said they worked?

(with the car off and 100% cool, please, turn the fans yourself...do they move?)

Yes, the fans work manually. I hooked up a couple wires directly from the battery to the connector right next to the fan. I've run the car with everything turned off and let it warm up, and still the fans don't turn on. I heard that if you turn the a/c on, then the condensor fan will turn on automatically, and thought that maybe the light on the button not coming on was related.

Mine is having the same problem. However, liking the idea of having manual control of the fans, I'll probably just wire up some switches. .. Though it doesn't really help solve your problem, you may want to do it as a temporary solution.

            it's on the drivers side.

could be a bad fan timer as well. later.

Engine fans do that sometimes. That's why you should disconnect the battery -ve terminal when you're working in the engine bay ^.^
