ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    AEM Pulley Problem....

I just put on the new AEM Pulleys I bought.

The belts they sent me didn't fit. Off by an inch or so. I found the right size belt and got it put together. When I first start my car it squeals like a sunnuvabitch. I found that if I rev the engine a couple times it goes away. Its been a little over a week now and it still squeals. I've checked it and the belts not to tight nor to loose. I dunno.

Also should I get an Altenator upgrade? I've noticed since I changed it that if the headlights are on along with anything else at the same time. The lights go dim.

    Any input would help.

i would check the charging system first before you go changing alternator, check the charge on the battery while the engine is running and its off also revving it up. the belts are squealing because they are too loose still if they are new belts.

also, if you have been running it for a week like that you might want to check and make sure you still have a belt there too.

I had the same problem when i put mine one actually.....the belt kept moving over and kept shredding on one side...i had the wrong amount of grooves on the belt whatever they're called.....basically the wrong one......but i got the right one and it seemed to work

Most of the pulley advantage is from lightweight, but most of them also underdrive the accessories by about 15% by making the pulley diameter bigger and thus spinning the accessories slower compared to the crankshaft. I put an AEM set on my H22 Prelude because I'm not going to put a big stereo in it and I don't care if the headlights are a little dim at idle because the alternator isn't turning as fast. I think that's normal, as soon as you hit the gas and bring the revs up, everything is as bright as can be. I want to put amps and subs in my Accord, so I'm going to pass on pulleys, damn compromises.
