ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

auto trannies wear IN BETWEEN SHIFTS........when an auto tranny (or manual) is in gear, the wear is on anything but the tranny.......do it and with that many miles, the odds are against you that it will last forever, but you may get a few good years out of it, who knows, none of us do whether we act like we do or not.......

what i would do is go ahead and get a backup tranny ready....easy to swap out anyway.....the accord auto trannies are stronger than the accord manual trannies.....the lude auto trannies are stronger (except for the s model that used the f22a1) but only a little bit.....even the manual trannies are nothing special though....and when your tranny IS strong enough, you'll break axles, mounts, exhausts, etc......so don't listen to "auto haters" because it's usually a situation where "manuals are cool because you shift" or whatever......yeah, auto trannies use up more power but my auto xr4ti ran high 12's on street tires with a 2.3 liter, sohc turbo setup.......it ran a high 12 EVERY time too....the less human involvment, the more precise and consistent your car will be........

just make yourself HAPPY.........no need to care what others think as long as it isn't just a legitimately stupid idea....which this isn't because i say so and i'm god

"Will the transmission and drivetrain be adversely affected?

Very unlikely. Consider that the drivetrain endures more torque in first gear from the stock engine than almost any turbo can produce in second gear. Occasionally a clutch comes along that won't do the extra duty.. Most clutch problems are going to cropp up when shifting habits are less than acceptable. Not to worry."

automatics have clutches to btw... just thought i would share the info...

lol. first of all, it's an AT.

it's just plain wrong to do such nice modification on AT. lol. IMHO.

And you know that as fact ? or so it sounds... even though it's known as fact on here that the auto's run aobut a second slower in the quarter mile. That and the autos have torque converter that allow's 'slippage' if you will, so whatever hp your motor has it will never all get to the wheels, and manuals don't have that problem

yes there are drag fully automatic transmissions and there are sorta manual/auto transmissions that do not have a clutch but you control the shift point. (no computer doing shifting) But we aren't talking about those in this context. LEt's jack the thread all we want someone asked a question relating to their car and what they have.

As for the h series transmissions I can't tell you too much other than if you get a jdm one pulled from a lower mile car thatd definatly help. And that torqe converter from that shop would help too as our stock one's pretty much don't seem to let much more to the wheels other than stock. They weren't designed for any more power to go through them. Now if the h series auto comes with it's matching torque converter it probably would also be built to put more power to the wheels. People with them generally seem to feel more pull so it might be worth doing. I know a guy with an auto jdm h22 motor and tranny and he's dynoed at like 189 all motor not built just minor mods. SO a lot more power seems like it would get too the wheels.

                              I can second that
there is less drivetrain loss with a manual

Second that? The part you snipped I was talking about and automatic not a manual, just the h22 version. But either way there is less loss of power with a manual because of not having the torque converter. Add a stage 2 or 3 clutch and you are really gonna do some serious damage!
