ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Go to your motor bay. Open the hood.
On the block of the motor(in your hatchback) there is an engine stamp.
It should read something of the variant -D16YX...or some combo with the D16. Look at your motor. Look towards the bottom of the head...keep looking towards the left hand side...a small little plate will reveal those alphanumeric combo...or it could be covered in oil/grease...not hard to find...

Im assuming your Civic Si hatchback has a power sunroof and disk brakes for the rear?

To swap in a K20 motor, you would need custom mounts...look up www.hasport.com

Welcome to the board...do you own an Accord?

Putting a K20 in a 90 Civic would require more than just custom mounts. THe motor spins the opposite direction which would put your tranny on the driver's side of the vehicle. So you would need to swap out the shifter mechanism (not sure if the 90 Civic is cable or hydro), fabricated accelerator cable, convert car to electronic speed sensor, convert car to OBDII, probably a whole new exhaust and the list goes on... There are much more feasable swaps available for the 90 Civic... B series, some decent D series motors, even the H series would be easier than the K series.

      Hope this helps!

it's harder to put the k series into any of the older cars because nearly everything is different......different fuel delivery system, different wiring (must use standalone ecu or k series ecu), different mounts, different header, different (insert word here, probably right)
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

i've to say the same thing: definitely no K on that 90 civic.....

but then.....IMO, swapping with engine other than K series doesn't sound too good at all. all the B series engines are getting too old!

well the only reason i was putting the K series motor in there is bc i want to make the 90 Hatchback vicious. I want to be able to put it on the track and leave some ppls in the dust..

Thanks for everyones in put on this. I want to know if any really knows what i will need to change in the hatchback.( Yes like EVERYTHING_) If anyone has this time get back at me.

Oh and if there is anyone in VA that knows about the 90 Hatchback and wouldnt mind pointing me out to some good places that i can take my Hback to get some of this work done at get at me. THanks again for welcomeing me to the board and I hope to be riding in style with yall on the road one day. Peace. Grimey.
