    H2B tranny adapter??

I have been seeing alot of H series to B series adapters lately which allow you to run a B series transmission on a H22 in B series cars. So I'm wondering, is anyone on here or know of someone running B series transmissions in there H22 Accords or Preludes?? I want a ITR tranny and I have been seriously considering buying a H22 longblock and doing this. Havent heard or seen anything about it though, what do you guys think??

Why would you run a B series tranny on an H?

WHY in the world would you want to do this...There are quite a bit of Honda Tech people that have this...IMO its a waste of money the plate itself cost around 1500 or so dollars if i recall and it aint no cheap piece either.

Again, shorter gears and LSD. I can get one used so it would be cheaper for me to buy the kit than to get a h22 trans and lsd, plus I will have better gear ratios and LSD. Why is this not a good idea?

Or you can just throw in a 4.9 Final Drive in the H22a tranny. I think Gearspeed and ATS makes those kits for the h22 tranny. I think 2point6 runs this setup. Plus gas mileage is gonna be like crap with prices nowadays.

Actually, the Quartersports H2B adapter is a very good idea for those wanting to run the H22 in a Civic or Integra platform. This kit ($850.00) combines the H22 with the factory B series tranny without changing the mounting locations, axles, or shifter in those cars. This kit is not intended for our cars (CB7) at this time. There are some specific advantages as well as some dissadvantages... The B series gearing has more options as well as good aftermarket choices. Although the Circuitworx 4.7 final, (Like I run personally) is a great improvement, it is considerably more expensive than sourcing the Honda OEM 4.7 final drive for the B series trannys. Combine the better gearing with the TQ of the H22 and you get a whole lot of fun! The disadvantages of this set-up are hood clearance issues in the EF,EG,DA,DC platforms as well as having to "modify" the driver side frame rail in a couple of those platforms as well. Explicitspeedperformance.com offers a "d series" altenator conversion (which I am testing for them) which helps with stuffing the H22 in these platforms a little bit as well as saving a little weight.

If you have any questions about either the Quartesports H2B kit or the Explicitspeed Altenator conversion, please contact me. Both products work really well.

Well guess i was wrong i just know you changed the fd on the tranny. For the D series alternator is it still using the civic Alt or the Prelude alt? And hows it charge?

Depending on where you got your info, I did install a Saenz gearset in one of my transmissions. It was combined with a Circuitworx 4.7 final, but this made the gearing in my car way too short. Last Wed, I changed back to "old faithfull" my T2T4 LSD trans. This has always had the Circuitworx 4.7 in it as well. This works much better for my needs at the track.

As far as the altenator is concerned I am running a "d series" altenator instead of the Prelude. The weight savings are almost nine pounds, with less rotational mass. Charging is just fine. I haven't dyoed back to back yet, to see if there is any power to be freed up. It does make sense that it would though. Well see...

                        They go for 850$!!!!!

I'm sure to buy a H22 trans it would cost at least that much, probably more. The LSD, but I have been thinking about picking up one of those OBX ones for cheap. I have actually been hearing alot of good things about them from people with high horsepower B series set-ups. Plus the gas mileage thing shouldnt be too bad, I have a 5th gear set out of LS transmissions that I could use to lower the rpms on freeway driving.

Well mike, as far as the question of which is better ... that h2b adapter is amazing for the civic/teggy guys times lol. I forget his name but he's using the h2b on his n/a h22 teg. He's running a 12.2 @ 112 and that's with just the switch to the h2b alone. I think he was in the high 12's before the swap.

Edit: The guys name is skunked on h-t and his best before the updated version was a 12.9 ( then updated to a 12.6 ) @ 199whp and 2400lbs but you already know, when your runnin n/a ANYTHING for a tenth ! lol
