ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I used normal oil for first 500 miles then put normal again for another 3000 then went to synthetic. The normal oil for the first few hundred miles help "clean" the motor a lil and yea so on.

Why would you need to break in a used motor?

Dont use synthetic period, it eats the internals of the motors. Only use synthetic on Honda's that used synthetic from the factory.

Used JDM motors usually sit in on a crate at idle for hours, upon weeks, upon months...maybe even years on a frieght ship...no one really knows unless it's a popular seller, like a b16 or a h22.

So essentially, doing a break-in time of say, 2 full oil changes(5000ish Miles) is a good idea.
Dont use synthetic not just yet...keep using regular dyno oil until you feel like your motor is ready...

...this means, when you are certain, when you have that common "feel" that your baby is now ready...

              Uh-huh.

Because the oil has drained off of the internal components? That's it?

                Look.
                Every motor is different.
I, WE are not there to see or, "feel" out his motor.

I wasn't aiming you out to everyone, just making a statement that using synthetic has it's many benefits and bad sides too...especially with a motor that's just been breaking in...

You dont have to break it in....I mean you can rag the piss out of it when you get it on the first day. But the engines do sit in yards for quite a while and most of the time you dont really know how long they have been out of the car and just sittin there. As for the oil change better to use normal oil first than the synthetic as i mentioned. Technically you can just floor it right when you get the motor swap but if something takes a shit on you when you do that your just SOL and you just spent like what? 2000 somethin + labor (if you didnt do it yourself) and whatever money you spent on replacing some parts basically just gone down the drain. Wise people would not rag on the engine quick until at least by there second oil change.

the synthetic would clean out the motor better anyway...it has detergents in it. later.
