ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    oil used

hey my cb7 uses to much oil i think the engine that i have is the:
    F22B2 (Block)
    F22A1 (Head)
    F22a6 (Cam & Intake\Ex Main)
it uses about 1q every 4000 miles i just put in the new engine in about 10 weeks ago

does anybody know what may be the problem
da9b16 is a great seller very quick shipping and great parts

well i dont think your car has vtec right unless it does then thats when you burn up more oil or you may just have a real slow leak somewhere that lets oil out ever time you drive your car i mean its a honda you can run these cars on one qt of oil and you should usualy change your oil every three thousand miles or so so i wouldnt worry unless its leakage becomes realy noticable then i would worry (its not like oils expensive)

and also do you do the oil change cause if u do then you may have strips the threads a little for the bolt on the oil pan from over tightening it then and if that may be the case then i would check for repair kits for that prob or you could just put some silicone or somthing over the bolt and help stop the leak and just rip it of at the oil change

Where does it say he has VTEC? B2's have no VTEC. You replace all your seals and such? Done an oil change yet?

If it does turn out to be smoking, get down on your knees and start praying to the internal engine component gods...giving extra attention to the piston ring god.

When I bought my '91 EX 4 weeks ago it was losing oil at about 1 litre for every 500 kilometers I drove. That sucked. But after some head scratching it was determined that the expletive who put the oil pan on last had bolted it on finger bloody tight! Who does that?!?!

Anyway, do what NAIL05 said and check all your seals. Also, put some cardboard under the car at night to see if you have a leak.

Obviously some one wants to be banned. There's a reason you're in the noob section so take the time and learn from people that aren't. I didn't take what Nail said as being offensive either so you might want to do some chilling yourself. You made a nonsensical post so get over it.

Cats on ice, your post was also irrelevant. I know we're all trying to make 30 posts but that doesn't mean post filler crap or you haven't earned your right to be in the other sections.

Back on topic. Does it appear to be leaking from the top or from the bottom? Is it only on one side? I'm not familiar with this swap so help me out here: do the head and block have identical oil passages? If not you should have plugged something on the head with Hondabond or J-B Weld,\. If they lined up then cancel that out. Basically you're just going to have to start looking around and replacing things you thing may be the problem. Isolate it to one area if you can. You're not going to waste money by replacing seals and gaskets so don't get too bothered if you replaced something that doesn't solve the problem.

I guess Iwas being random and useless...Oh well. I'll now try to redeem myself

Here's one question..... The coolant in your Radiator Overflow Bottle: it hasn't developed a bath tub ring, or hasn't started looking like a Dunkin Donuts Coffee Coolata; has it??
It so, you've found where your engine oil has gone.

Also check your air filter for signs of oil.

If it turns out it IS leaking under the car:

If it's leaking on the drivers (left as seated) end of the engine it could be leaking from either:
Front Crankshaft Seal (inside Timing Belt Cover)
Front Balance Shaft Seal (inside Timing Belt Cover)
Front Camshaft Seal (inside Timing Belt Cover)
If it's leaking from the Passengers (right as seated) end of the engine it could be leaking from.
Rear Main Crankshaft Seal (from inside the bell-housing)

                    If from the engine's rear:
                    Oil Pressure sending unit

Dont really see that often and it wouldnt really be that obvious. Another good question to ask would be does your car blow blue smoke? You can go do a compression test on all 4 cylinders also do diagnose your oil situation also to see if its your rings and such. But anyway cats_on_ice gave you somewhat of an idea to start checking but i would say get under your car look for obvious blobs of oil, clean it off with some brake clean or something drive around for a while get back under the car and see if you can pinpoint a spot.
