ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Very hard starting problem...

I'm having a starting problem, wondering if anyone can help. When my CB7 is cold, overnight or after a few hours, it gets real hard to start. Today I must've cranked for a good 5 minutes off and on until it finally started. The battery is fine, and it only does it sometimes. When the car is warm or has been used not too long before, it will start up on a dime. Usually when it gives me a hard start I'll get a CEL and once I cant get over 4k rpms.. Anyone knows what it could be???

I was leaning to a bad starter. On my old Maxima I had a bad starter and the car would crank but it wouldnt start up. A guy I know whos a starter rebuilder told me when starters go bad sometimes the solenoid will crank but it wont have enough power to crank the car.

how is the water level on ur battery...

hook up a voltage meter to ur battery and have a buddie crank..if it drops below 9.4 or something then its ur battery not having alot of cold cranking amps...

check ur battery connections for corrosion cause that causes resistance and take off the terminal and clean it. also look in the wire after the terminal to see if its not coroded in there....any corrosion causes resistance.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

The water level is fine, its actually a new battery.

Today it wouldnt turn on at all. I kept trying to start it for a good 10 minutes and nothing. Finally I got fed up and pushed it and put it in gear and it started up. When it did start up, the idle started fluctuating from 1500 to 2000rpm up and down. When it warmed up it stopped. I"m really stumped. I'm thinking its the starter thats going...

i doubt its the starter, did it sound like a firm start....not really a slow start?

i think it can be something else like fuel or spark...or maybe even tghe air valve that lets in air when starting is clogged.
