I was on my way to work today and the oil light started flashing and I make it to work and checked the oil and there was barely any oil on the dip stick. I let the car sit for 30 minutes and checked it again. It was full when I checked it. Started the car back up and let it run for 5-10 minutes and the light never came back on. What could be the problem?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Oil Light Flashing, But...

It could be as simple as the oil sensor wire harness clip coming loose on the pressure sensor - old cars are prone to it. Could be something worse. I'd get a pressue gauge on the car and keep an eye on it. Cheap, and effective.I am the wrath of the server you curse and the demon of the directory you cry about - making life hell for users, one deleted file at a time.

Heres what I have done, I changed the oil pressure sensor. Still does it. So, I took the oil pan off and every bolt was so loose that I took them off with my hand. The oil pan has very small build up and the oil screen is pretty nasty. There are three bolts missing from the cover over the crank. I called two different Honda dealerships to check on a oil pump and they both say that it is almost (99%) not the pump. They told me to take off my oil pan and clean it and the screen. I ran some new oil though the screen and it flowing alright. Could I need a new screen or is flowing alright good enough? I just want to check before I put it back together and check the oil pressure with the gauge.
The oil light only comes on after I drive at 3k rpms or over. I can sit in the car and rev it up to 3k rpms for about 3-5 minutes and the oil light comes on.Last edited by Jazmine; 04-29-2006, 11:59 PM.

Hmmm just try to get most of the dirt and grime out of the screen as best as you can and reinstall and see what happens.
