    H22A burning oil. Common places?

I just noticed today that my H22A is burning a bit of oil. It's by no stretch a large amount, but I saw a tiny puff of blue smoke when I pushed the car up through vtec in 1st gear. Just wondering if there are any really common seals which might deteriorate more than others in the H22A's.

some burning of oil is common, however, it can also be from the piston rings if they were changed and after market ones were used.

Accords often burn a little oil, and the piston rings are usually to blame.

Try keeping an eye on your oil levels to see how much you're actually burning.

Check your bumper, license plate and muffler tips for black soot aka carbon buildup.

Blue smoke is a no-no...that is a sure sign you are burning oil.

If you are puffing smoke when at stop and go...your valves are not seated properly, needing a valve adjustment...if it's blue, then your piston rings and/or your sleeve walls are chewed a bit...

it's common among h22a's...so dont feel singled out...

also -- see what color your oil becomes after a fresh oil change...it should tend to be amberish to brown. If it becomes really black within say, 1-2 weeks...you have blowby, meaning your rings are bad.

You will blow out blue smoke from time to time and i replaced all my seals and such. After i cracked open the throttle after i drove around thats when blue smoke started to come out whenever VTEC engaged. But after like about 4 or so times it stopped doing that and i got black smoke (my tune is pretty rich). But yea its normal as long as its not excessive.

              Awesome. Thanks everyone.

I wasn't too worried about it, since I know it's not burning a lot at all, just wanted to find out where it normally comes from.

I'm getting a valve adjustment tomorrow morning, since that needs to be done anyways.
