Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

It doesnt burn any oil and there are no leaks what so ever, oil level is fine. Did recently get the oil changed at Honda less than 1000 miles ago and shortly after started noticing it. Always have Honda do the oil changes and never had this problem before.Last edited by Cletus Vandamn; 04-30-2006, 08:20 AM.

in my situation, the oil light also would come on and stay on if it was on longer than like a second. If it was just on quick, it'll go back out w/o having to restart the car.
Does it happen when you turn to the left?
Did you check your oil level?
Do you hear a rattling sound for the first 1-4 seconds when your car starts?

Simple possible solution. If the oil pressure sensor connector on the engine harness still getting good convact and snapping on? Over time, they do get fried by the heat changing and the single wire on it will break. Have you pulled back the jacket and checked that? If the clip part comes off, or momentarily does, then the check oil light will come on.I am the wrath of the server you curse and the demon of the directory you cry about - making life hell for users, one deleted file at a time.

I've got the same problem. Just bought a '91 Accord DX. Started about a week after I bought it. 163K miles, dirty oil changed immediately after. Had a mechanic look at it and the oil is very dirty after two weeks of driving it. Light comes on during cold starts (stays on a few seconds) with a rough start, then goes out. Only other time it comes on is after a highway drive when I come to a stop. Then it flashes. Mechanic plans to change out to heavier oil (5w30 out, 10w 30 in), and replace sending unit. Should we drop the oil pan and clean it out too? Wher'es the oil screen at on this thing? Hard to get to?
Thanks!

Back when my oil pressure switch went bad [2003], the oil light would flicker for a while and then stay blinking on after a while. Sometimes it would flicker and stop.
I replaced the oil pressure switch for $30 and it solved the problem.Former: 90 Accord EX Coupe, 93 10th Anniversary in Frost White

dude thats never good. if your oil light comes on any time thats bad. could be a bad oil pump or sensor or even worse you might have spun a bearing. do you drive your car hard all the time cause if you do and the light comes on when your ideling that means you usally spun a bearing. not saying thats what it is but thats what happen to mine. i spun a bearing and right after i did my oil light came on. does your car sound like its about to die when your at a dead stop. do you hear any knocking noises from the engine block. if so then you got a spun bearing. if it is then i would start looking for a new engine.

I really hate to be a jerk about this, but did you check your owner's manual? It clearly states that a flashing oil light is due to a sudden drop in oil pressure.
More often than not, this is caused by hard cornering with low oil - as the oil shoshes from one end of the sump to the other, it sloshes away from the intake tube, meaning your oil pump gets a big gulp of air and oil pressure temporarily drops.I swear, eventually I'll run out of things to break.
I guess I was wrong... I broke it all. Died 10/29/06
