ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    need to replace my rotors

like the title reads, i gotta' replace my rotors. my 91 dx is stock right now, but i got plans to add some bolt ons within the next month or so. are the pep boys good enough, or should i go with something else. a swap is something i'd LIKE to do, but the budget really isn't there.

i assume your talking about the pep boys rotors? i would say any direct OEM replacement rotor should be sufficient as long as its not real cheap and bad quality...because that usually equals warpage.

just make sure you slap some new pads on there as well.

Just get some powerslot rotors not crossdrilled because they crack easy with some hawk hps pads and your straight homey.

that's about what I was planning to do when the time comes, but the rotors aren't that bad yet and the pads are like new.

But Think about...would you really want to go cheap on BRAKES? And if you do swap brake setups later and spent the money on good rotors, I'd assume they'd still be good enough to resell.

right on. yeah, i'm talking about the pep boys rotors. they said they got their brand for like 22 bucks and raybestos for 45. does it matter?
are powerslot rotors a name brand? or type of rotor. i've heard of crossdrilled, but not powerslot.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Powerslot is a brand, or actually I think its a specific line of brakes a company makes. Not actually sure though. heh

you may not of heard of em but i rock em and a couple of people on this board as a matter of fact. Dont go for the okeydoke and the hype. Go for a product that lasts and have proof that a person is satisfied with it from their feedback point of view.

Go to buybrakes.com. I just got brembo vented with aem pads for 110 bucks shipped. thats a good price. Powerslot is a brand and a damn good one at that. Avoid drilled rotors since they do sometimes crack, slotted make a whirring tyoe sound when driving fast and thats why i went with my setup.
No longer working on the cb. To much time and money has been put into it. Check my for sale thread where the whole car will be parted out.
