ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Youre better off with a Short Ram Intake, since after you pass the 30mph mark the advantage of a CAI just disappears and Short Rams would dominate. Go for the Short Ram, cheaper and more efficient.

Hum, hey bro I'm thinking you meant to say the op. of this, right? I believe a CAI has better high end RPM power due to sucking in cooler air.

A problem with the SR is that it sucks air from the radiator / battery area, which gets very hot. If you use a SR, look into a heat shield. In a recent issue of Grassroots Motorsports they dyno a BMW 318 and lost power with a quality, name brand SR because it was sucking hot air in. They fabbed up a cardboard heat shield and guess what? They got the lost HP back. But, no gain. So they went back to the stock box with a drop in.

SR does sound louder, but thats not a good thing because it attracts unwanted police attention to your ride. Its also ricey to want something because it sounds better, but performs the same. This is only my personal op, and it not directed at ANYONE at ALL. NO ONE Should read what I'm posting.

I dont like rice either but I do like the sound of a 4banger @ wot with a nice intake...it just growls soo nicely...mine may not be as nice as my ex-sol with the b16a..... the sound of the car just transforms @ vtec @

course, with mile high air and ethanol fuel.....how much hp am I losing just to geographic limitations??? I'm not soo worried in my case about hp, just pleasing myself. :-)

hehe, at least its not a "blowoff muffler insert" oh god....

umm, no..i meant exactly what i said..
my bro in law has a CAI on his v6 6th gen coupe, and it just dies at upper rpm compared to stock..i have a SRI and i love it..

think back about being kids in the pool with a hose..you try to go under and breathe, right? well, the longer the hose, the harder it is to suck air in...you have to move a lot more air just to get some..and regardless of how it is on a high performance BMW, which is going to make more heat under the hood, from the more extreme nature of the motor..on an accord, you are going to make more top-end power with a short intake that lets it have all the air it wants, as opposed to an intake that restricts it with its length, curves, and the fact that its down inside the front bumper, where there isnt that much air flow..

              mine

I put my battery in the trunk and had a short ram that goes all the way to the back of the headlight.
