ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Crank, No Start. Diagnosis Help Please

Brought my 90 Accord into the garage to change the thermostat and see if the water pump/thermostat are working (Been Overheating, replaced a leaking coolant line and I still overheat)...

After removing the thermostat but putting everything else back, for some reason I can't get it to turn over. I think something else unrelated just happened to go out at the same time..

I put the brand new plugs/wires from my 92 accord on it in order to test the plugs. No spark.

I haven't gotten as far as checking the fuel or compression, because I believe I have already diagnosed no spark. If I have my test light grounded, and the engine cranks... but putting the lead of my test light onto the ignition coil spring produces no light/spark, that at least means bad ignition coil correct?

There was a little bit of oil in the rotor cap, but after clearing it and replacing the ignition coil I can't imagine why it wouldn't work again. Any advice or thread links are appreciated!

Check all of your grounds. The thermostat housing has a major one. Also check your battery connections. I've experienced no-start issues with corroded cables/terminals. Provided enough juice to turn the engine, but not enough for a strong spark.
Also make sure your coil and igniter are functional (or simply replace them), and ensure that your plug wires are installed in the right order.

      Deevergote,

On point, it was indeed the ground. It was hidden inside of a knot of grease/schmag and i had to poke my finger around till i felt the wire. Looks like electricity is the devil. Thanks man.

No problem. Glad it was an easy fix!
