ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

There is now a short on the main wire harness (see pics) yellow wire heading towards firewall. 10amp fuse on interior fuse block looks melted. trying to find pics or wiring diagram to tell me what system(s) the harness plug goes to so I can trace short. wire gets hot and smokes only when engine is running.

    please

My fuse box cover says its for turn signals and back up lights. Unfortunately my FSM is at the shop and I dont know anything else about that particular wire. How in the world did the fuse melt though? Surely it would have blown before getting that hot...

I will try to remember to look at the manual tomorrow if nobody chimes in before then.

It is a major pain to remove that fuse block, I just threw one away actually. Cut the wire there, check resistance on both sides to the chassis to see what side it's grounding on. Then we'll go from there.

Poor connection at the fuse terminal could cause it to melt, but usually when that happens the housing melts too. I'm willing to bet the wrong amperage fuse was in there.

            Fuse #1 goes to:
            Instrument Cluster
            Vehicle Speed Sensor
            Integrated Control Unit

The proper fuse was in as you can see from the pic the fuse is red which is a ten amp fuse.

I am still trying to get to back of fuse block to see if there is any melted wires there. Tried to take pics but they did not come out. I wish there was a post or info for getting this thing out

Indeed it is. That's what I get for scrolling too fast.

It's a total PITA to remove that box. IIRC, there are two bolts and a clip and about 7 or 8 harnesses that have no slack (thanks Honda).

Everyone here has good advice, but instead of cutting the wire you could unplug the connector and see which side has the short.
