ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    93 Honda accord f22b1 swap

I did my f22b1 swap 1 month ago and I still can't find out why when I come to a stop the car wants to die so I pump the gas pedal and it'll stay on but if I don't it will die and It'll start right back up. Also not showing to much power very low.

    Please help
    Thank you.

    Neither can we.

Would you mind telling us more about the swap in order to help you out?

Which distributor did you use? Wiring harness? ECU? Was the engine gone over well? Did you change the timing belt? Has it had a tune up?

If we don't have any information other than knowing that a stranger on the internet put a different engine in his car, then there's no way we can help you out.

If you're using your Accord's harness and P0A ECU from the '94-'95 ECU, did you swap pins A6 and A11 on the ECU connector?
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

H22A ECU is not correct. It is actually very different. Use the correct ECU for the engine.

Is your check engine light on? If so, pull the code.

How are you not sure if you changed the timing belt? Either you did, or you didn't. I assume you didn't, because I'm fairly certain you'd remember doing it. Change the timing belt, and be certain to set everything properly.

Please try to type coherently. You are very difficult to understand. We're happy to help you with your problem, but if it requires more work to read what you write than it took to actually write it, you'll find that the more experienced members (the ones that actually CAN help you) won't bother wasting their time.

Spoke to the previous owner and he told me he did put a new timing belt.

You need the correct ECU for the engine. ECUs are programmed for specific engines. Using an H22A ECU and expecting it to run the engine properly is like speaking Chinese to a Russian person, expecting them to understand you. Speak Russian to the Russian person. Use the F22B1 ECU to run the F22B1. Jarrett mentioned the correct ECU in his post, as well as the modification necessary to use it with the CB7's harness.

You only need a paperclip and the ability to count to 9 to read the error codes being thrown by your check engine light. The "sticky" thread at the top of this section that says "PLEASE READ HERE FIRST" contains instructions on how to do that.

I wouldn't assume the previous owner changed the timing belt correctly. Look up the procedure, and make sure it has been done properly. I'm willing to bet it hasn't.
I also wouldn't trust that the engine only has 70,000 miles on it. People love to lie about things that can't be verified.

Also, it would be wise to do a compression and leakdown test on that engine to determine its internal health. Low power could be due to internal damage.

This is so true on both counts. Nothing worse than trying to fix a botched job by a previous owner. It's very possible the belt is a tooth off. It's also very possible that the belt isn't tensioned correctly. Who knows what the skill level of the previous owner is?

I laugh every time I see those engines for sale from Japan "with 35,000 miles". Yeah right. I had an unfortunate friend who bought one for his Nissan and it had a dead cylinder. What are the chances a 20+ year old engine will have 35,000 miles?

Back to the OP: sorry to rant. Just check compression to make sure your engine is healthy. If it has good compression and doesn't burn oil you should be good to go on that front.

The only low-mileage claims I would ever trust would be those of a reputable JDM engine importer, such as hmotorsonline. Even then, low mileage on a 20 year old engine isn't necessarily a good thing! Regular use with proper maintenance is in some ways much better for an engine than a decade of non-use.
