ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Got a 92 accord Ex. AC blows hot air.. But I'm not sure why. The compressor clutch engages the belt and the freon seems legit at 70F. Haven't looked into it more than that but maybe a thermostat or something of the sort?

What do you mean "Freon seems legit at 70 F"? How are you measuring it? Have you converted to R-134a?

You really need a manifold gauge set that measures pressure on the low and high side so you can monitor the whole system.

Yeah visually looking at it isn't really going to help. What Masospaghetti said, you need to measure the pressure on both sides man.

Your AC and cooling systems are separate. Thermostats have zero to do with AC.

Get a kitchen thermometer too, and put it in your vent. Should be in the 40s not the 70s

I truly know nothing about freon or Ac's. Im assuming that R134A is an alternative but Ill look into it. What I meant by the freon being legit is that when i tried adding some a few years ago I was told by an admittedly questionable source that 70 degrees was the sweet spot for accurately measuring it and adding it to a system. The guy told me to check the low end and the high end of the system, however mentioned nothing about a manifold gauge.. So anyways, Ill grab a manifold gauge to check both ends and then I'll post my findings. Also, not sure if its relevant but the temperature dial in the cab does turn past the point that should be the hottest and highest point, and no matter where it is on the scale from coolest to hottest it makes no noticeable difference in the air coming from the vents, with the AC button engaged or not. Just a side note in-case thats relevant at all.

R134A is what replaced R12 as the refrigerant used in automobiles. The R12 that was originally in your system is no longer legal, and no longer available for sale. It is necessary to convert the R12 system to be compatible with R134A.

It is very likely that your system has a leak, and that there is no more refrigerant in there.

You can still get r12 but you have to have a license for it. not to mention its very expensive. I think its around $35 to 40 a can. I only know this cause i was looking into it not too long ago. What i was reading said r12 is colder then r134 So im looking into the r12 option

                R12 on eBay

The US just banned the import of r12. You can still buy cans that haven't sold yet but are still in the US.

Also, if you live close to Mexico, well guess what? They will recharge r12 all day long down there.
