ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Swap Question

Is it possible to swap out a 4spd auto for a 5 or 6spd AUTO into a 91 accord? I understand if I had $1M I could, if I had that I wouldn't be here. I've been told the cases are too big, is this really the case?

Car likes to overheat in traffic if the heaters off, when on no overheat. Looked into it, fan only runs when car is off. What's the deal?

I'd explain more, but first post was deleted so...

    Any help?

Didnt you ask this in a previous thread, and already get your answer?

no, you cant. if you wanted to, get a J or K series.

Its not just that the case is too big, its also that the only tranmissions even close to fitting spin the wrong way. for the money you could buy a brand new accord.

Confirm you have bled the coolant, and that your thermostat is working correctly, by heating it in a kettle, and seeing when/ if it opens, and see if its the temp it should be (marked on it)
sold! But here's my build thread for those interested.

Your first post was deleted because you failed to follow the rules that you read before posting. This one barely qualifies as it is.
If you won't provide enough information for people to help you, then no... you will get no help.

I did ask before, some dick moderator deleted it without explanation.

So if I swap in a K or J series motor, a 5 or 6spd AUTO is possible?

The radiator blew last year so I replaced it and replaced the cap and thermostat since I was right there. I bled, by the book, three times in the span of two weeks. So I'm certain it isn't any of those. Even if it was those, it wouldn't explain why the fan only turns on when the car is turned off.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions.

So you will explain why you deleted my post here, but not in my original post? What sense does that make?

I read the rules as much as I could, I obviously missed it, how about being a professional moderator and taking it easy on the new guy and explain things. But I guess fuck the new guy, right.

Looks like you're wrong on that last part there too.

I just came here for help on my accord and to try to help others.

Yes. If you swap a K or J series motor you can have a 5 or 6 speed auto. The real question is... do you have the skills to be able to install this and get it running? Or, are you going to have to pay someone to do it? If you are going to pay someone to do it, then you might as well buy a different car. I have seen K and J swaps, but almost all of them use a manual transmission.

Sounds like some of your sensors may be bad. There are a couple under the distributor that turn the fans on.

If you click the AC button on while your car is on, do both of the fans come on?

Also: show some respect. Don't start insulting people. You are new here. It is your responsibility to give off a good impression. If you start insulting people right away, then a lot of people aren't going to give you any respect. Cut the attitude.

A failed thermostat would explain exactly why the fans turn on when you shut off the car. You have 2 fan switches 1 right behind the thermostat. The other in the water neck protruding from the cylinder head. The car uses the one mounted behind the thermostat when the car is running. Which is cool because the thermostat isn't opening allowing hot water to flow over it kicking on the fans. Then when you shut the car off it uses the switch by the HOT cylinder head and kicks the fans on. So either your thermostat has failed, which you have already been informed to check into, or your fan switch is bad, or the wiring on the plug to the fan switch is bad. You can test the plug by jumping the 2 connectors with a short piece of wire. You can test your thermostat as mentioned above. If those both pass then you need a new switch.

But the information was already provided, you just refused to accept it. Thats on you, not on us the community.

Also you shouldn't get pissy with Deev.

I shouldn't have to explain anything. It is explained in the rules, which I assume you read before posting.

I'll overlook the fact that you called me a dick... even though personal attacks are also against the rules (missed that one too, eh?)

If I have to delete one of your posts again, you're going with it. Understood?

This isn't about mods. This is about rules. Hell, if he had called someone else a dick, I'd have banned him straight off. I tend to be more lenient when they're rude with me. Maybe I shouldn't.
