ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

A leak down test will show the health of the internals of the engine. It will pin point cylinder issues, head gasket issues, valve issues etc the testers start at about $80 and go up but u will need access to air via a compressor and or have a shop do a leak down on it. Check and make sure you are timed correctly an getting spark and fuel forst.

Can do a compression test aswell wet and dry will tell you quite a bit in terms of ring health.

So guys, I had a couple of guys that I know around the area that are really good with cars. And turns out, I have bad rings in my pistons. I also found out that the number one cylinder ring is the most damaged and has a bent valve. So im going to rebuild the entire f22a1. Does anyone know where to get a pretty good rebuild kit from??? Thanks for all your help guys.

Do not buy a "kit". You're just paying someone to collect all the parts for you, and most kits are going to contain inferior parts.

Buy your parts from Honda. Buy a Helm manual, so you know how to disassemble and reassemble everything correctly.
What do you want to do with this engine? If you want to do some significant power upgrades, such as forced induction or a high revving naturally-aspirated build, now is the time to buy the correct internals. www.raceeng.com should have most of the upgrades you'd need for either build. Everything else should be sourced from Honda.

Did you do a compression test or it that just an assumption.

Rebuild is a good idea. I bought a couple of bad engines assuming they were good and after that I don't buy used engines unless they are running in a vehicle.
