ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

1990 Accord won't accelerate after slowing.

Hi everyone, my 1990 automatic accord dies basically when slowing/hitting the breaks and when I hit the gas it's almost sorta jumps like it's trying to accelerate but it won't.if I pull over for a second and I try to accelerate it'll work fine till I slow down again. The very first time it happened I was on interstate going about 70 and it did what I described above except the battery light came on.that was the only time the light came on.I appreciate any help!

Does the light work? It should come on briefly when you start the car.

The check engine light does not come on.
The only thing that comes on is the battery light when I turn the key but it goes away after starting the car

does the light come on for a brief second when you first start the car ? if not the bulb could be out and you may have codes . also some states require that that light to work to pass smog .

Sounds like a fuel issue to me. I feel like I've had this same issue years ago and I want to say it was the fuel filter? I know I'm shooting from the hip, but it just doesn't sound like wiring issue to me. If I'm wrong, then my second guess is plugs/wires.
If it were grounding issues, you'd have all sorts of symptoms and it wouldn't just arise under deceleration. Any grounding issues I've seen usually raise hell with starting. Usually.
I feel like your battery light coming on "one time" was just a fluke unrelated. I've been known to be wrong occasionally, but it can't hurt to replace the fuel filter.

If the check engine light never comes on, then as Accord problems said, there may be an error code that you are not aware of, and you will be unable to read it if it exists.

If the light never comes on, you have to pull the cluster and change the bulb. Then you can look for an error code. Unless you do that, we can spend weeks naming parts for you to replace. You might replace the right thing eventually, if you don't go broke or do serious damage to the car before that happens. The check engine light should always be the first step in any engine-related diagnosis.

Hmm.. from my experience, I've had tranny issues. Is it an auto? If so, how high does it rev before the battery light comes on? I know that if the trans is slipping then it'll rev high around 6k+ quickly and the light will come on until you slow down and let go of the gas. Highly likely, this is due to the trans leaking and the low pressure cannot allow the trans to work as normal.

If not, then another would be the TPS. But from my experience the battery light doesn't come on. But it'll cause hesitation when you gas quickly for a few seconds before it jumps forward. People say that the CEL would come on when it goes bad, but not in the cases I have seen. I just replace the things and it works again.

It could be a combo of one or none of these things.
