ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    question about fuel injectors

when income taxes come in i was planning on having all the seals in my motor redone cause i have an oil leak in the rear main seal but i was wondering if putting bigger fuel injectors and a cold air intake would give me any noticeable power gain. i dont really wanna turbo it i just want a stock sleeper i guess. any help is greatly appreciated

just throwing bigger injectors in for no reason will not gain you anything, stock injectors work fine.

More fuel does not equal more power.

I don't think you need to consider injectors until you have gotten into some pretty radical upgrades, like forced induction or an insane cam. Honestly, I don't know if CAI really gains you much more than a nice clean look in the engine bay.

The gains to be had from an intake are minimal. The stock airbox and tube flow pretty well.
If anything, I'd suggest an SRI over a CAI. Easier to install, easier to remove when you need room in the engine bay, and you don't have to cut a hole in your sheet metal (which will rust... and that's a very difficult spot to repair!)

Increasing the size of the fuel injectors without changing the ECU or tuning will decrease both your performance and your fuel economy. This is because the computer only controls the fuel injector pulse width, not the amount of fuel injected. So, with a larger injector, more fuel will be injected during open loop operation and your engine will run extremely rich. On a naturally aspirated engine, power actually decreases with air/fuel ratios richer than about 13.5:1. Not to mention the loss in fuel economy.
