Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    F22a1 noise?

    Does not sound normal.

    What could this be? Sounds like a mouse squealing and metal hitting something

    Check your oil filter or drop the oil pan for metal.

      damn, I've heard that sound before... Definitely do what Tishock suggested and drain your oil and drop the pan. My engine took into that sound (basically the exact same sound) and it was too late, I instantly shut it off but upon further inspection there were some bearings that failed and my bottom end was completely toast, ill keep some fingers crossed for ya that its not the case here.

        Well, that is the next most cost effective action. In the case that the block is toast, would it be best to swap out the failed parts or??

          Just buy a known good f22a1 theyre cheaper than rebuilding. although, if youre up for the work go nuts, rebuild it!

            ^^^ Agreed. Just find a running motor to swap in. Pick up an F22A6 if you want the handful of extra horsepower.

            My formula: Pick up a 92-93 EX with a running A6 and a bad auto trans/fatal body damage for $300-400. Swap A6 motor and ECU. Dump the bad A1 into the EX and scrap it for your $300 back.

                That's actually genius! Will that motor just swap right in?? if so i'm game.

                  Sure does. Just make sure you swap the ECM over when you're in there. Make sure the wiring harness connections are the same at the strut tower. I feel like one of those motors had a different connector....

                    You can use the engine harness off of your A1 if the A6 harness doesn't work, but it should be totally plug and play (except for wiring up the IAB - not that hard).

                    While I'm thinking of it: Put on a new oil pan gasket before you put the new engine in. Way easier than doing it on the car.
