ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Need guidance with this intake swap please.

So i have a 90 with this intake on an a6 block and head..

And i want to put this h23a1 intake on..

Now the issue im having is the major differences between these two as far as the sensors on the throttle bodies and plenums. what do i do with the sensors on the h23 as i dont have a way to plug those in currently..
I'll be able to mount the intake on the head and figure out the IAB myself as i read into that already.... but now that im examining these current differences ive yet to run into a detail diy for this situation. if anyone has one please share. any info on what ill need to do to make this happen would be great because im lost and dont want to rip of my current intake only to be screwed.

The map sensor for the stock throttle body is in the black box. You have to extend that harness to reach your new map sensor on top of the H23 throttle body.

I'm not sure I understand your concerns for the plenum. The main difference for that is the placement of the FITV...

the map sensor issue is now solved now that i know where the stock one is located thank you. i just am unsure about the specific on the rest of the plenum. learning more everyday on this car.

The difference with the plenum is the booster is on the front then on the side and the FITV (has coolant lines) is on the front of the f22a and on the h23 it's on the bottom of the throttle body. The big diaphragm thing on the opposite of the throttle body is you butterfly valves. Everything else is pretty much the same.

FYI - You can get really fancy and get a map sensor adapter.

But, you can easily make your own from some scrap metal, o-ring, a small fitting and some sealant. If you don't want to tap the TB or extend the wires.

that looks legit. Im not sure what im going to do as of yet i just know i have to spend as little money as possible and not make this any more complicated as is. Im a hands on learner so im sure ill be good to go in the process. Im just not familiar with the h series components. ive only had f series engines and this is my first time working on the intake.

              thanks for the help guys.

While your at it you can also order a thermal intake gasket. Those to help regardless of what people say. I've tried and like it better than OEM paper gaskets. Can get on eBay for cheap. Looks to be made out of Teflon. Perhaps virgin Teflon and not partial glass. Helps intake manifold from not getting heatsoaked as quick and at stop lights. Helps more during steady state cruising too. Either way good luck on swap. Most likely the cool a t lines are your only issue like stated above. Everything else is straight foward

I've also heard that the a6 runner in more straight helping slightly on top end. Not sure if h23 runners are better. Maybe someone of more knowledge and actual dyno results of both conversions can chime in.
