ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Intake and valve cover help?

I recently bought a 93 accord. I looked and it had an aftermarket intake along with a weird filter on top of the valve cover. I looked at the throttle body and i noticed there was a plug. Is my setup correct with the hose going from the intake to the valve cover? And the hose disconnected from the throttle body with a nipple, And just a filter on the valve cover? I lurked on these forums for a while and I noticed some people have difference setups such as the breather switched to the other port by the intake. I'm really confused and any help would be greatly appreciated. ps: I also noticed that the filter/breather is soaked in oil and I was wondering if that was normal.
    Thanks,
    Skeazzy

Those are both part of the PCV system. I don't know about that filter but is the car running badly or not at all? If it's not giving you any problems then I wouldn't worry about it. "If it ain't broke..."

That port is supposed to connect to the port on the intake manifold that is currently capped. Run a hose there and replace your PCV valve while you're at it.

For some reason a whole bunch of people think that using that air filter (breather) in place of the PCV system works better, because you dont get oil in the intake. But unless the motors built, A standard setup or a catch can setup works much better than a breather. i bet its dirty and super oily? theyre always like that.

Now, the intake to valve cover hose is correct, so thats fine. Run a hose from your PCV valve to the capped spot on your intake, as jarrett said.

Those breathers are for looks and dont work. if you care that much about Oil in the intake, use an oil catch can.

Ebay ones are fine but put steel wool in the bottom.
sold! But here's my build thread for those interested.

X2 on the catch can with steel wool. Honestly, unless you're making excessive crank case pressure (turbo or built) you should just go back to stock.

the air coming from the engine has tiny oil bits that clog the valve and dirty the intake over time, which is why people use catch cans.
