ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

hmotors is the only place i would ever go. Prices are higher than many others, but they are by far the most reputable, reliable, and honorable engine reseller around. I got my H22A from them in 2003. Still going strong.

Speaking of JDM H22's when do you think that Japan will run out of them? Seems like they got a million of them and it amazes me they haven't run out completely already seeing that ppl have been swapping them since the mid 90's.

Many of the less reputable sites likely sell them from other countries, such as Australia (higher mileage.) Sure, they'll run out eventually... but they'll be available to those that look. If you can still buy original engines from cars made in the 20s and 30s, you'll be able to find good Honda engines for the rest of our lives.

Just do a full inspection when you get it. Compression, bearings, etc..

Gasket kits, belts, seals, tune-up, VTEC solenoid gaskets, water pump/timing and stuff. I think most people do this anyway for piece of mind. I would.

                This.

The F22A9 I got from tigerjapanese for instance. From Australia.

Most of that stuff would be required for the warranty to be honored anyway. A professional installation is usually required as well, though I believe I've heard tales of Steve (HMO) honoring it after an amateur install, since the problem wasn't something likely to have been caused by the installer. Still smart to have a pro do it if you want to be safe.

Of course, I had pros install mine, and I'm still fixing their halfassed installation.

I believe Steve states that you must replace certain seals in order to keep is warranty valid. But I would not go to anyone else but hmo. I've seen 3 motors come from him and all 3 still going strong.
