ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Searching for idle after bypassing heater core

    91 Accord, F22A.

I've bypassed my IACV 6 months ago after it went out with no issues at all. Just bypassed my heater core by running one hose to either side of the block,as I've heard multiple other people doing with no issues. Now idle jumps up to about 2k and falls back down to around 1k. I've bled the system, checked voltage on all connectors I could think of. I'm hoping it's something one of you experts will make me feel stupid about.

Check all of your vacuum hoses and connections. You might have knocked something loose while you were in the bay working.

How did you "bypass" your IACV? unless you have a chipped ecu with the IACV disabled, this isn't going to work well. If it had been idling OK for the last 6 months like this, I would call that luck. If your IACV is not functioning or you have the connector unplugged, or you have removed the coolant lines from it all are likely to give you issues. My advise would be to try getting the IACV system working as designed. Looping the heater hose isn't the cause of the idle issue. My usual check list for idle issue is: check coolant level, clean iacv, adjust and clean FITV, check for vacuum leaks. I have fixed bad idle on countless Hondas, and it's never been a bad IACV.

91LEVI, please do not delete your threads after your problems have been resolved. In fact, sharing your solution would likely help people with the same problem in the future.
