Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    93 Accord won't start, throws TCU codes

    Hey guys, I recently picked up an auto 93 with 212k on the clock. I bought the car with an issue, that sometimes, if it is warm enough, the car will not start/trans will not shift from park. During the cold (I live in Arkansas) it would start every time unless the engine been brought to running temperature. I have been researching on the forums and I am plain stumped as I have gone through most completely obvious things (replaced the TCU and VSS (I was told by the P.O. that the VSS needed to be changed and it was simple enough).

    I pulled the TCU codes and these are it. The ECU had no codes at all.

    1-Lock-up solenoid 'A' circuit open or shorted.
    2-Lock-up solenoid 'B' circuit open or shorted.
    7-Shift Solenoid 'A' circuit open or shorted.
    8-Shift Solenoid 'B' circuit open or shorted.
    14-Linear (line pressure control) solenoid open or shorted.

    The car cranks and cranks but without the paperclip in the ODBI diag port the D4 light just flashes non stop. I think the fuel pump relay is probably bad too but I just can't figure out these transmission issues. I have searched and searched haven't found anyone on the boards with the same issues, could be my keyword usage but I am fairly mechanically inclined so I feel like I am going about this the right way.

    Generally if the TCU, or ECU for that matter, is throwing that many codes, it's usually toast.

      Replaced the TCU with a tested and confirmed working one. The ECU throws no codes at all.

            Other TCU read the same exact codes as well. Same model # ecu. Decided to dig in a little deeper (my friend who sold me the car told me a lot of BS as it turns out). Pulled the plugs and wires, had oil in every spark plug hole. Cleaned oil out, got spark, am not getting fuel so I am going to replace the fuel pump relay thing under the dash tomorrow as well as pull, clean then test the solenoids to rule that out. Thanks for the input guys. I'll keep this updated in case anyone else comes across similar issues. Only thing I am having a hard time finding info on is the code 14 for the TCU. Still no ECU codes after more messing with tonight.
