ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    New With Swap

New here, have a 91 with h22 already swapped into it.
sort of familiar with some honda stuff (had a hatch for a bit)

Have a few questions concerning my car
Block up is h22a4 , F series trans.
Dude who i got the car from says the ECU is from a non vtec 96 Accord but my motor is a from a prelude thats supposed to have vtec.

Some of the wiring i can see it hood rigged but the car runs good, Going to address some of the wiring but what Ecu should i go looking for to make sure everything is as its supposed to be. Last owner has a chipped p28? no idea and type s cams on the motor. Everything is currently stock.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Down the line this motor is going to be pulled out redone and turbo'd and put into a different car.

This probably isn't the most convenient method, but I guarantee it's the cleanest. Go buy another engine harness for your car. Since you have a '91, stick to the '90-'91 harness from a 5-speed. DX/LX/EX is all fine, but the '91 SE harness should be avoided because it's only for autos. They just have additional connectors for the solenoids on the auto transmission. Then buy a VTEC suharnesses already premade on eBay that will include both VTEC connectors, the IAB connector and the knock sensor connector. It includes wiring all the way up to the ECU pins. Attach that loom to the factory harness and you're done with wiring. If the current t distributor wiring is hacked then get an internal coil distributor for a JDM H22A (TD60U). Your total expenses will be around $200 and you'll have a clean base from which to modify.

The ECU you want is the P13. That will run another $100.

The ECU from a '96 car shouldn't plug into your car's wiring harness as that ECU is OBD2. Go pull up your carpet and see which ECU you actually have.

thank you much, ill get to looking for it now.

I totall fucked up my transmission case the other day. hit a rock and have a fattychip in it and a nice puddle of fluid down my parking spot. So now im also looking for a used f series trans to swap, while im looking for a trans is there anything i should have done to it or (lsd maybe) heard the F series trans with long gears are good for boosted cars.

The money sounds better spent getting a decent suspension that will lift the car to a streetable height.

F trans is best for MPG, not boost or performance related. If your looking to make your car faster now would be a time to find a h22 trans.

F series trans is good for boost depending on how much torque you're producing. The H2U5 will reduce torque to the wheel because of it's long gear ratio, increase traction and top speed in each gear.

The h22 trans will do the exact opposite while increasing acceleration in each gear.

Your choice as they both are application dependent.

Amen to the last sentence; Your choice of which trans to go for should be depended on what you're planning to do with it in the future.
