ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

A too-small turbo would also generate considerable heat. Even a properly built engine can sustain damage from that.

Pressurising the intake air increases it's temperature, and also I assume the intake air would pick up a fair bit of heat from passing through an overly hot turbo, so a decent intercooler would probably be (even more) needed to keep charge temps down, even at modest boost pressure(?). An overly hot charge will be less dense which will significantly inhibit power at X boost pressure, but also be more prone to detonation (a bad thing), and probably to pre-ignition as well (a very very bad thing).

If you do turbo your car make sure it doesn't spool till 4k honestly and that the intake side is decently sized say 48 trim 60 is way to big.

Also as far as the air coming in you also better make sure that ar side got a good amount of air coming out so the you don't get compressor surge where the hot air is trying to escape but can't so it will recoil off the exhaust housing back on the exhaust blades bending that which can ruin your turbo too.

okay not so much that i would want to blow it up but.. I mean sometimes you have to learn from things, I don't know... I'm going to talk to my mentor about it i'll fill you guys in a little later.

            So based on your logic:

We told you that it won't last, you still want to turbo it to learn even though you know it will blow up.
You have several members here telling you don't do it, but it looks like you want to do it anyway. Go ahead, just know that it's going to be more expensive to learn your way than it would be to listen to our advice.

Why didn't you consult your mentor first?

lmfao no no no im not gonna turbo the stock motor i got to thinking, i should have made that clear my bad i was sitting in class trying to rush my words and i only saw where that one guy said to do it and i was rushing through reading, im gonna ease my way around a build and just put her out of commission for a while, I'm probably going to be trying to see about a H23A vtec swap, but if not ill be breaking down the engine and slowly rebuilding. I'll see... I hope it all works out an I'll have her done by march.

It looks like in the pictures that you don't have a completed kit regardless, or do you? Why not just save up for a H swap and, sell the turbo stuff. Depending on a few variables with putting the turbo on the car (and theres a lot) vs the h swap it would produce just as good power after the swap and, still have stock reliability. Unless you just want to have a turbo for the "cool" factor. Good luck with your decision.
