ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Why do you not intend on keeping the catlytic converter. The power gain is negligible on these cars and the factory catalytic converter bolts right up. The lack of the catalytic converter makes the car sound like ass.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

the inside of mine is blown out and it rattles as well. in my state the car is tagged historic and no inspection is needed. i was not aware of the sound issue with the delete but now that you said that i will look for a replacement.
here is the link for the exhaust system i found if that helps at all

Keep in mind that eBay is just an auction site. It does not sell anything specific. Your "ebay exhaust" may be very different from others. Furthermore, all of that cheap stuff is going to vary considerably from batch to batch. Consistency in manufacturing is one of the first things that gets compromised when costs are cut like that.
There is nothing after the o2 sensor that would cause the check engine light to come on. As long as the sensor is installed and functional, everything behind that (including the catalytic converter, piping, resonators, and muffler) will have no effect on it... unless the cat gets clogged, that is.
I would definitely replace the cat. You'd be better off with another OEM unit, rather than a high flow replacement. The high flow units seem to fail fairly often, whereas our OEM pieces will last for well over a decade. As Jarrett said, the design of the OEM cat is fairly free-flowing, so there is little power lost. Without a cat, the exhaust will undoubtedly sound raspy (especially a cheap "ebay" exhaust), and the exhaust fumes will smell terrible.
Replace the cat (high flow or otherwise... as long as it's functional.) You'll thank yourself.
If you plan on racing, and you want every last possible HP from your setup, get a cat that is removable, and get a test pipe to install for track use only. When you return from the track, remove the test pipe and install the cat.

You'll find members on here conversing about "ebay intakes", "ebay exhausts", "ebay headers" etc. They are referring to the generic and knock off companies that sell products on Ebay. You might already know this, but if not, just trying to help.
Good luck.
