ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Gilly brought it up about a year ago and we did some in-depth looks at it off-site. Hell with the fab work needed and the importation of parts(probably want to get new if possible so they don't fail too soon after). You might as well make the car AWD with a CR-V drivetrain. (Totally unrelated, but to give you an idea.)

Something to possibly save you from cutting and fabbing most of the body is to use an electric motor to rotate the rear suspension. Now this will require work, so will doing it the other way, but for the most part would require computer programming so the motor will turn the suspension the right amount at certain speeds.

I believe that's how the later Preludes did it. From what I've heard, it wasn't great in comparison to the mechanical 4ws.

Rezz, your best bet might be to get in contact with other enthusiasts in the countries where the 4ws models were available. Australia might be your best bet, as their handling of old cars (and I think junkyards) is most similar to the US. Japan and the UK are both fairly small, and likely destroy old junk cars much more quickly.

I'm not certain when the 4ws models went into production, but it's possible that they started in 1989. If you can find a full 4ws CB overseas that was manufactured in 1989 (date usually written inside one of the front door panels), you could probably import it easily... as it would be over 25 years old. Well, maybe you'd have to wait until later in the year... but regardless, the cost would probably be about the same as acquiring all the parts and fabbing it yourself... and you'd have a full unmodified car instead of a custom job. It may be easier to locate an entire car than it would be to find just the parts.

That is what I was worried it might come down to... I mean, I would much prefer mechanical over computerized any day, but I would also hate to have to "start over" considering how I know every inch of this car and the plans I have for it. I'm not really sure how to go about importing a car though, but I'm sure Google can help me with that. But might someone enlighten me as to how you FIND the car you want to import? I would also love to know how the mechanical setup differentiates speed variances.

Finding the car could be as easy as searching vehicle classifieds in other countries. Then you'd need to locate an exporter nearby (the seller may be able to direct you there), as well as an importer here in the US. Contacting the US importer would probably be the best place to start, since they'd probably have connections overseas.
We have a few 4ws owners on this site. One of them might be interested in selling at some point.
