ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

It may help to address idle issues if you clean the IACV, adjust the FITV, replace all the intake gaskets with new and torque everything to spec.

If you're burning oil then you'll need to figure out where it is coming from first. Have you checked the spark plug tubes to see if those have oil? There is a spark plug seal above and below the rocker assembly for every plug. They're almost always bad on older Accords.

At the very least you can just get the manifold and hold on to it.

Yeah I intended to do all of those after reading the stickied thread about fixing idle control problems last night. I think I changed the spark plug seals at the same time that I changed the valve cover seal gasket ? Ill take a look at the sparkplugs again and see if theres oil. If I weere to throw it on before fixing the oil burning problem would it be really bad for the motor?

Also is it worth getting the IAB butterflies and a6 camshaft for my a4 is it that noticeable of a difference? Or would a cam reprofiling or some other service be a better investment?

You will need the a6 lower runner section and go with the h23 top section in order for this to be a bolt on affair. But it will really wake up the engine. Make sure you spend the time fixing your oil leaks as well. I have the same issue when it comes to the spark plug tube seals. You can buy a complete kit that redoes the valve cover and the upper and lower tube seals. How many miles do you have currently? You may have worn rings or bad valve seals which can be causing the burning oil issues.

Wait so, the runners are the lower part of the IM with the flanges at the bottom that attaches to the injectors and plenum? Essentially, the whole chrome part in the picture motorbmx posted above? Just want to know exactly what I need to buy next time at the junkyard lol.

Also, I changed the valve cover and seals already to fix the leak I suspect its the worn rings but its at 160k miles. Guess it wasn't taken care of at all haha. I don't really have the budget for a swap but I definitely don't think its worth a rebuild. Hard to say what the next step is for my little beater cb at this point.

Says who? What's wrong with using the H23A1 runners?

Stop worrying about the individual components. You'll need the entire intake manifold. The runners, IAB plate, plenum, throttle body, black box, small bit of wiring and an ECU to to run it.

Yes, the "Chrome" part is the lower intake manifold, aka runners. BTW they are aluminum not chrome.

As Jarret said, you need the complete intake manifold, fully dressed.

Well I have had the intake manifold I was just confused because the other member informed me I needed the a6 runners. Haven't had time to address the idle and oil burning issues because of school. As soon as I take care of that I plan on bolting on the intake manifold and throwing in a P12 ECU now that I've been reassured I can do so.

is there a write up/how to for this on the site? I'm new and have searched the site for a few days now and don't see anything about this. Mostly I'm finding H22 engine swaps. If you know where this is on the site will you please reply with a link? Thanks Lew

Okay, so for an update I saw an F22A6 at the local junkyard. Pulled it out and took off the runners, I was going to get the ECU as well but they wanted more than I had sadly. I got the black box underneath it and the EGR valve connected to the black plate with the metal circle plates that rotate in it, not sure what its called. I had to remove the wiring harness and other EGR valve from it though. My plan is to degrease the A6 runners and get all the carbon out as well as the H23 Intake Manifold and match everything up then grab a PT6 ecu. Would any of the more experienced members agree that this be the most effective way to make use of what I have so far? Or if you disagree with what I plan on doing, let me know! Always open to others opinions and advice. Thanks guys
