Exhaust coupler?

so when i bought the car a couple days ago, the seller told me there was a hole in the exhaust between the cat and mani i looked under the car and happen to see this

Those pipes are trashed. I would look into getting a whole new exhaust. Can't be more than 200 for a header back unless you want name brand. I would also pick out a muffler you like

I that's the oil pan I see in the picture then it looks like you need a new flex joint if you don't want to replace the whole system

THANKS! i assumed after 22 years of wear and tear i was going to have to get a new exhaust system. im just WAY to noobish with cars so i have no idea what im buying

heres what youre looking at, except yours all the stainless outer braid has worn away..



theyre about 27 bucks at the parts store plus cost to weld it in. (lets say 50)

were almost half way to a full no name stainless system's cost

I bought this system, with the addition of a magnaflow cat and eventually lopping off the fart cannon. Its good so far, no cracks in the header and I wrapped it too. its supposed to be 304 stainless but its all oxidized up now, I even cleaned the whole system after I installed it, which was easy enough with some hand tools, penetrating oil, new hanger rubber and copper adhesive gasket spray.

I probably wouldnt go that route again, but I was on a limited budget needed a complete system and green to the situation and it worked out well. Its been about 13 months.

They have full systems(edit: header back) for a few bucks( 195$ stainless 2.25 & 2.5), its probably better material and its more customizable, so its correct even though itll end up being just a little more expensive, itll probably outlast the car.

When I took it to my buddies shop today I found out my exhaust had broken at the weld and my engine leaks like a whore but other than that 900 for this car is decent
