ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    5 Lug Swap Q's - Yes, I searched :)

I looked at almost every thread on multiple forums about this swap so I'm pretty much confident but I just wanted to have a few things cleared up. I'm staying drum in the rear for now, discs are hopefully to follow eventually.

I'm going to the junkyard this month and as far as I know I can get these bolt-on parts from the following cars, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Front knuckles can be from:
    00-02 Accord EX V6 (stamped S5)
    95-98 Odyssey
    ~00-03 3.2TL (stamped K6)

    Rear hubs can be from:
    97-01 Prelude
    95-98 Odyssey

Now what I'd like to know is about the drums. I know the DIY calls for CRV rear drums, but these are virtually non-existent in the junkyards around here. Can I use Odyssey drums since all the other parts are compatible? Or does anybody know of another 5-lug Honda with drums that'll fit the CB?

Also, does anybody know if the 3.2CL uses the K6 knuckle, just in case I don't find a TL?

If not I'll check the cars themselves at the JY later this month, but I just want to be armed with all the info when I do this and not end up having the car stuck on jackstands in the middle of the swap.

    Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

BB6 non SH front knuckles also can be utilized. but lower balljoint hole must be enlarged
RA1 oddysey front knuckle is a bolt on affair no extra positive camber u get like with the BB6 knuckle. camber will be neutral.

why waste money on used drums? If you're going in to change the rear hub, change the shoes and get new CRV drums. An upgrade and a repair all in one.

when I installed my 02 TL spindles all i did was

unbolt the Accord caliper and put it off to the side

undid the axle nut along with the lower ball joint and upper ball joint and tie rod end

pulled spindle off car and reversed process using the TL spindle

my spindles i got complete with rotor/caliper and bracket still on them

the only thing i did to the "new" spindle was put in a new lower ball joint and take off the tl caliper but nothing else

i was surprised when my oem caliper fit the tl bracket

my big problem was i had a set of 15" 5 lug rims that were too small to clear the caliper in the front so i have to use 16" or larger wheels

other than that total install time was about 3 hours including bullshitting on the phone

Thanks, OK just needed that verification. I didn't list the BB6 parts because they're not direct bolt ons. With the lack of CRV's, I'll probably end up getting new drums.

Glad to hear about the TL knuckles... it seems they are relatively common around here in yards.

I already have the 17" CL-S wheels to mount, just can't wait for the rest of the parts!

I already started removing the knuckles from the JY cars and have more questions:

The LBJ and UBJ both were stuck and in the process I broke the boots, spilling the grease... can I reuse the ball joints on the CB7?

Also, in doing a rear disc swap from the 96 TL, is it necessary to get the trailing arm? I've read two different sources saying yes and no.
                  Thanks!

Use new ball joints do not use the old

You do not need the trailing arms at all. Sometimes people grab them because they anchor to the car with two bolts instead of the four nuts you have to remove to separate the knuckle from the trailing arm. Your rear wheels will stick out an additional 30mm on each side using this method for a rear track increase of 60mm. Also, the rear lower control arm and toe arm are spaced apart an additional 50mm so you'll need to modify the knuckle or grab the rear lower subframe as well.

Never reuse ball joints. Ever. Especially not junkyard ball joints.
