whats up guys so i have a 93 accord ex sedan at, it has only 115k on it. i bought it not to long ago and i noticed the D4 light is out and the tranny shifts hard sometimes. so ive been all over the forums this one and honda tech trying to figure it out before i pay a shop to tell me something. so heres what ive already done. ive check the fluid level it perfect, there no leaks, i pull the tcu it looks brand new, i even looked on the inside of the tcu looks perfect but i know looks can be deceiving. im afraid to pull the solenoids since the gaskets are 20 yrs old and i dont know where to pick a set up. i may try testing them while there still in the tranny. next week im going to pull the dash cluster and see what bulb it is so i can get the code. but on a side note when i pulled the battery the tranny ran fine for a while but the problem is mainly lower rpm shifting. stop and go is the worst

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Follow the testing procedures in your manual. Do you not have a dealership nearby? You can order the gaskets if needed from http://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/ or https://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com...artsSearch.jsp

I was going to say pull the code but HA! would be kinda hard to do with the light out huh?
I'm not sure if there are actual torque specs for the bolts. My transmission was having issues and it was the shift solenoid. Replaced both (shifting and lock up) and now its fine.
I just tightened them by hand and then tightened each one a quarter turn at a time to try and get an even seal and no leaks for me.
The lowest bolt on the lower solenoid is going to be a bitch or at least was for me so if it's possible to get to it from underneath I would try that.
