ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Misfire issues/pissing antifreeze/motor build help

Alright. So I picked up my CB7 about three days ago and I'm having serious issues. It is misfiring, badly. I changed my plugs cap and rotor with no help. I don't know what else I can do. I've pulled two codes from this car and one was for the speedo being broken and one was for a water temp problem. I'm sure it was for the water temperature sensor I believe. I just know it was code 17. Could this help cause misfire? It won't even keep an idle just shut off.

Second. I was driving today and I started pissing anti freeze EVERYWHERE. And it appears to be coming from around under the fuel injectors. I haven't been able to put my finger on it because I had to take my truck to work. Any ideas?

Lastly. I was wondering if I was to try and put a new head on, an F20 DOHC head. I'm not 100% on the specific name of my motor but I know it's a SOHC non-vtec (99% sure that's an F20?) but could I do it? Or an H23 head? I've seen a lot about doing either (mostly H23) to an F22 but I'm pretty sure they're the same just one has Vtec correct?

    IAC( idle air control) valve
its a lil manifold attached to your TB. antifreeze runs through it via 5/8 hoses check there, i think someone deleted your last thread

I would suggest picking up an entire motor, esp for simplicity. How and when does it misfire? Idle? low load? etc.

There are several hoses on your intake manifold:
Throttle body, IACV, FITV, heater hoses, manifold hoses...

Thank you. I'll check it out tomorrow.

It misfires at all times. It's weird though. When I start it up on a cold start it's not really bad and almost unnoticeable. Then when I drive a bit and it warms up it will become highly noticeable and will shut off when idling. But if it's in a gear it isn't as bad.
I wish I could just buy a new motor but I'm dead broke after picking the car up itself. And I have no source of income as of 10/10/13. And the income I have now is absolutely nothing. In quite a jam with no money.

It sounds like you have a failed intake manifold gasket. It would explain the misfire and the leaking coolant. I would look for the leak around the #4 runner.

Well it took me more than a day but you're right I believe. It's a thicker hose that connects pretty much next to itself just under the injectors. Luckily it ripped on the edge where it was plugged in. But I can't get it off especially with my fat hands. Any tips or should I just keep trying to get it off without removing any components?

At first I thought it was this:

but you said a thicker hose...can you take a shot and show us? I haven't gone back in that area so I don't know from your description. I think replacing that hose AND the part I showed will be the fix. Keep trying on that removal.. soak in some spray lube and it might. There is a DIY in here on how to clean that part. Mine was so gunked I just got another.

this one you can see how it plugs in.its just under the fuel injectors

this one you can see which side is bad.

this one you can see how far I got on the good one. But it's stuck on there.

its the fat one behind the one my finger is on

You can see it just under the blue rubber piece for the short ram.
