ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

my 93 idles up and down in Park and Neutral.

my 93 idles up and down in Park and Neutral. When it's in gear, all is good and seems to happen after it's warmed up a bit. I'm stomped here. I have new thermostat, air bleed coolant, new IACV, new FITV. There is no engine light or code. Also my PVC and TPS is fairly new within 1 yr and spark plugs are ok. I've checked the hoses and they all seem to be ok and hot so I don't suspect a blockage. Any ideas are appreciated.
(I'll probably check for vacuum leak this weekend)

update: last night I took apart the EGR valve and cleaned it and put in a new gasket. Same issue happening. At his point I'm not use anymore and will assume that I have a vac leak that I can't find. What's puzzling is that there are no CEL and only happens in park/neutral.

Look for a vacuum leak, around the intake vacuum hoses and around the engine bay.

Even though your fitv is new maybe the diaphragm needs adjusted. When the car is at operating temp turn it clockwise until you feel resistance. I know you bled your coolant but if it happens once warmed up I think if adjusting the fitv diaphragm does not work I would bleed the coolant again.

could be egr or maybe an issue with a throttle body or iacv. when you shift to drive or reverse you put a load on the motor which will bring down the rpms to be steady. when you put it in neutral or park it will be free of resistance and cause it to surge. in my opinion at least

I shall try the following this weekend (in order) and update:

adj FITV and posibly bleed coolant
                  look for vac leak again
replace throttle body gasket and check if the issue is related to the TB

                  thanks guys.

I can attest to that. The idle adjustment screw may have backed out of the throttle body too far. I had this problem a few years ago waaayyy before I found these forums and worked at Merchants. I set the base idle, and put a DROP of blue locktite on the threads of the screw, and that little thing has not backed out of the throttle body since. There's a thread around describing it...I'll edit the post soon as I find it.

                      Found the thread:

too much air being let in in your FITV perhaps.
my cb was doing the same thing, first i checked for vacuum leaks,
then i checked the IACV & FITV.
did you try unscrewing the cap & checking to see if it was loose & letting in too much air? heres a video that might help

Have you figure out what the problems is?

If not, i have other suggestions. Do your steering wheel shaking when in gear (revere or drive)? I am having this problem and i suspense it might need a new motor mount. Try to check your motor mount and see if it cracked, ripped in two or too soft.

what would that have to do with the idle ? the motor bouncing around and the idle bouncing around are two different thing's dude .

update: I found the culprit. The intake manifold to the engine gasket was cracked.
